With my birthday coming up, I decided to try something new to refresh my skin. Although I was a regular with neuromodulator treatments, I wanted to rejuvenate my tired-looking skin. Being acne-prone, I also wanted to improve my skin’s overall texture and firmness.
I started researching various treatments and reading through blogs and reviews. That’s when I discovered the Morpheus8 treatment. Intrigued by the benefits and the impressive results others reported, I decided to give Morpheus8 a try.
Here’s my real first-time experience with Morpheus8.
Before the Morpheus8 Treatment
Excited to learn more, I booked my consultation. The treatment designer thoroughly explained the procedure during the meeting and addressed all my concerns. Feeling well-informed, we decided on a package of three sessions, and I eagerly counted down the days until my first treatment.
Finally, the day arrived.
As I waited in the reception, I felt a blend of anticipation and anxiety, but my treatment provider reassured me and offered pain management options: a numbing cream and/or oral medications (Penthrox, an inhalant that is non-opioid analgesic). We took some “before” photos of my face and neck, and after a 30-minute numbing period, the treatment began.
Even though I was aware the procedure might be somewhat uncomfortable and despite my confidence in the clinic’s expertise, I still felt nervous about what to expect. My technician started by working on my neck and kept the numbing cream on my face to ensure its effectiveness throughout the rest of the treatment.
The sensation that followed felt like a warm, gentle pressure, and the noise the device made surprised me even more than the actual feeling. The device used tiny pins to deliver 24 in total into my skin while emitting radiofrequency (RF) energy, combining the anti-aging benefits of both microneedling and RF simultaneously.
I felt a gradually increasing stinging sensation, like a mild sunburn. Thanks to the numbing cream, the treatment was bearable. I also appreciated having the option of comfort medication for additional pain relief if needed.
And before I knew it, my treatment was over. Then, the waiting game for results started.
After the Morpheus8 Treatment
A few hours after the procedure, I experienced some swelling and redness. My technician reassured me that this was normal and provided the necessary skincare products for aftercare.
By the time I went to bed that evening, the redness and swelling had decreased significantly, leaving only a few small needle marks on my neck. I made sure to keep my skin clean with a gentle cleanser and moisturised with the products earlier provided.
It takes about three weeks to start seeing results from the treatment, and I was looking forward to my progress. After the first Morpheus8 treatment, I noticed major skin changes: my makeup looked better despite using the same products I had always used. Also, my jawline appeared tighter and more defined, and even my submentum (“double-chin area”) seemed smaller and firmer.
By week three, my skin felt much smoother.
When my second treatment rolled around, five weeks after the first, I noticed a stronger stinging sensation during the procedure compared to the first. Even though my aesthetician assured me that the settings were the same, I was surprised by my lower tolerance.
Later, we discovered I was more sensitive because I had some wine the night before, which had left me dehydrated. Here’s a pro tip: avoid alcohol the day before treatment.
Regarding side effects, I experienced minor swelling and redness in the treatment area, but these cleared up after a few hours. I also had some bruising on my jawline, but my aesthetician reassured me and provided a “post-procedure balm” and sunscreen to help with the healing process.
By the third and final treatment, I realised there was going to be a problem: The treatment was scheduled on the same day as my regular neuromodulator treatment. I became anxious.
Could I have both treatments on the same day?
It turns out I could. My third Morpheus8 procedure went first, followed by my neuromodulator treatment.
The combination of a neuromodulator and Morpheus8 left my skin feeling firmer, smoother, and glowing with health. Even my friends and family noticed the change, making me more confident.
After completing my three treatments, I had a follow-up appointment with my aesthetician. We took some “after” photos and sent them to my consultant, and we were all pleased with the results.
My Final Morpheus8 Results
My Morpheus8 experience was even better than I expected. My acne is totally gone, my skin looks amazing, my jawline is more defined, my neck looks tighter, and even my laugh lines are fading.
