Redness & Rosacea

Facial redness and rosacea are conditions that many patients learn to live with because they assume nothing can really be done about them. That is rarely true. Whether you are dealing with occasional flushing, persistent redness, visible broken capillaries or the inflamed pustules associated with rosacea, there are clinical treatments that can make a genuine and lasting difference.

At Bella Sante MD, we assess what is driving the redness before recommending an approach.

FAQs on Redness & Rosacea

bella sante

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition involving inflammation and dilated blood vessels that presents as persistent redness, flushing, red pustules and visible capillaries. Its exact cause is not fully understood, but there appears to be a hereditary component and it is more common in people who flush easily. Triggers vary by individual and can include sun exposure, heat, alcohol, stress and certain foods.

Rosacea is chronic and cannot be permanently cured, but it can be effectively managed and significantly reduced with clinical treatment. Many patients achieve long periods of clarity with the right combination of treatment and lifestyle adjustments.

It depends on the severity of your redness and how your skin responds to treatment. Some patients see significant improvement after a single session, while others benefit from a short course followed by periodic maintenance.

Rosacea is an ongoing condition and new redness can develop over time, particularly with continued exposure to known triggers. Managing triggers, wearing daily sunscreen and scheduling periodic maintenance treatments all help keep it under control.
