Medical Neuromodulators
Did you know neuromodulators can treat more than wrinkles? Bella Sante MD offers medical neuromodulators for conditions that may affect your daily life.

What Are Medical Neuromodulators?
Medical neuromodulators use the same proven injectable technology as cosmetic neuromodulator treatments, but applied to address functional health concerns rather than aesthetic ones. By precisely blocking the nerve signals responsible for overactive muscles or glands, neuromodulators can provide meaningful, lasting relief from conditions that significantly affect quality of life.
At Bella Sante MD, medical neuromodulator treatments are tailored to your specific condition and administered with the same care and precision as all of our injectable treatments.

How Medical Neuromodulators Work
Neuromodulators block the release of acetylcholine, the chemical responsible for activating muscles and stimulating glands. When injected into a targeted area, this temporarily reduces or stops the overactivity responsible for the condition being treated, providing relief that lasts several months before a follow up treatment is required.
* TREATS: Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), TMJ disorder and jaw tension, chronic headaches and migraines, teeth grinding (bruxism)
* TIME: 30 minutes or less depending on the area treated
* DOWNTIME: None
* RESULTS: Varies by condition. Hyperhidrosis results appear within 48 hours and last 4 to 7 months. TMJ and bruxism relief typically develops over 1 to 2 weeks and lasts 3 to 6 months
FAQs on Medical Neuromodulators

Hyperhidrosis is a condition affecting approximately 1% of the population where the sweat glands are significantly more active than needed to regulate body temperature. Neuromodulator injections are the only truly effective non-surgical treatment available, blocking the chemical signal responsible for overstimulating the sweat glands. Common treatment areas include the underarms, palms and soles of the feet. Most patients notice a significant decrease in sweating within 48 hours, with results lasting 4 to 7 months.
Most insurance companies consider neuromodulator treatment for underarm hyperhidrosis medically necessary and cover the cost. We recommend checking with your provider prior to your appointment.
Yes. Neuromodulators injected into the masseter muscle reduce the force of jaw clenching and grinding, relieving tension, jaw pain and the associated headaches that come with TMJ disorder and bruxism. Results typically develop within 1 to 2 weeks and last 3 to 6 months.
