What Is PRP Therapy?

Platelet-rich plasma is produced by drawing a small sample of your blood and spinning it in a centrifuge to isolate the platelets, which hold powerful growth factors. When injected or applied to the skin or scalp, these platelets signal your body to rebuild collagen, improve circulation and repair tissue. Because PRP is fully biocompatible, the risk of reaction is very low, making it a preferred option for people seeking a natural approach to hair and skin restoration.

PRP is used at Bella Sante MD for two primary purposes: skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. For the skin, it supports collagen production, improves texture and tone, softens fine lines and enhances the delicate area under the eyes, with results that look healthy and entirely your own. For the scalp, it stimulates inactive follicles and improves the conditions needed for fuller, healthier hair growth. In both cases, PRP works with your body's own repair process rather than adding artificial volume or masking symptoms.

How PRP Therapy Works

A small blood sample is drawn and processed in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets and their growth factors. The resulting plasma is then injected into the target area, whether the scalp for hair restoration or the skin for rejuvenation, where it activates the body's natural healing and renewal response.

Most clients benefit from an initial course of 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments every 6 to 12 months. We tailor each programme to your specific hair or skin concerns and will recommend a realistic plan during your consultation.

Yes. PRP works well alongside microneedling, laser treatments and other rejuvenation procedures for a more comprehensive result. During your consultation we will advise on whether a combination approach best supports your goals.

Staying well hydrated helps maintain skin elasticity and supports the healing process. Avoid excess heat including saunas and tanning beds for 48 hours after treatment to prevent inflammation. Regular maintenance sessions help sustain your results over time.

At Bella Sante MD, PRP treatments are medically supervised and fully customized to your hair or skin needs. We focus on natural looking, long term improvements rather than quick fixes, and will help you determine whether PRP alone or a combination approach will best support your goals.
